Also known as the Pearl of the West, my city is distinguished by the warmth of its people and its rich and varied cuisine, in addition to being an avant-garde metropolis, which preserves a balance between modernity and history.

At “Guanatos” we live by and for sport, as we have successfully developed some of the most outstanding sporting events on the planet, such as the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in 2011, the Pan American Games in 2011 and the Guadalajara Open WTA 1000 in 2022, to mention a few.

Here the talent of countless figures flourished, such as the muralist José Clemente Orozco, the architect Luis Barragán, the filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, as well as prominent athletes of the caliber of the F1 driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez, the boxer Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and the soccer player Javier “Chicharito” Hernández.
At the time, we hosted O’Rei Pelé and Brazil during the 1970 World Cup with the Jalisco Stadium as the venue and 16 years later we welcomed the “Scratch do Ouro” again with open arms.

The eagerly awaited FIFA World Cup 26™ Final, is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026 in New Jersey.

The FIFA World Cup 26™ Final Draw taking place late in 2025 will decide match pairings and kick-off times.
